Condition: Good
This original – 50-70 Trapdoor – Springfield rifle has a round tapered 1″ to 3/4″ x 32-1/2″ barrel with an adjustable ladder rear sight. The front sight is missing it’s blade. The bore has good rifling with some scattered pits approximately 3 inches from the muzzle. The P grade Walnut stock is mounted with iron furniture, including sling swivels. The inspector’s cartouche is stamped just below the rear lock bolt. The trapdoor breech block is dated US Model 1869. Stamped on the lock plate is 1863, US Springfield and the spread eagle. Both the action and barrel have the same serial number of 2XXX4. Length of pull is 13-1/2″. Please Note: The metal rod is not correct for the rifle.
