Peter A. Alexander has been building Kentucky rifles since 1972. In 1978 he joined the Kentucky Rifle Association. In 1981 and 1982, he apprenticed to George Schumway, with whom he wrote the third edition of Recreating the American Longrifle. Since 1996 he has volunteered at the Gunshop in Colonial Williamsburg, learning 18th century gunmaking techniques.

In 1983 Alexander began writing the column “The Gunsmith of Grenville Counry” in the magazine Muzzleloader. This book is a compilation of nearly 20 years of those columns, updated and revised where necessary, plus information never before published. It represents more than a quarter century of experience in studying and building American rifles.

This REVISED book is a must have for any serious rifle and pistol builder. It is full of many helpful illustrations and pictures. 405 pages, soft bound.
