This is the life story of the author, who was born in 1906, told in a straightforward factual and entertaining way. Many life experiences from hunting as a young boy with his gun and dog to being a Marshal and building muzzleloading rifles. His fascination of Daniel Boone lead him to walk the 385 mile Wilderness Trail, not once but twice, that Daniel laid out. Each time he carried a long rifle that had belonged to Boone. He rode horseback over the Chisholm Trail and the Ozark Frontier Trail. His greatest feat was walking the 780 mile Santa Fe Trail, alone, in 1953. These were all some of the main trails used by the pioneers as they pushed West!

He lived simply in a log cabin, sharing his wealth of period history knowledge with hundreds of talks and demonstrations. His life experiences encompass, cowboy, peace officer, trick shot artist and museum curator where he made replicas of his cherished “Boone” rifle. He was an amazing yet humble man.
